Lenten Worship - "One Another"
Are you as concerned about the tone of our civil dialogue in Wisconsin and across the nation? Are you weary of the increasing polarization in our society? Do you long for a day when we can come together in making a better community and relations with one another in our state, nation and world?
This Lent at Trinity we’re exploring how the Bible calls to live with one another. Join this biblical exploration of actions and limits that the Word gives to inform our life together as the people of God. Come and learn how you can better shape healthy relationships with God and others and make a difference in how we live with one another in these challenging times.
Ash Wednesday is February 22. Join us every Wednesday in Lent at 12:30 and 6:30 p.m. for worship.

Friends of Flynn Book Drive
As part of our partnership with Flynn Elementary, we are hoping to give every
Flynn student a new or gently used book to take home for spring break this year
and then keep forever. We also are supporting Flynn's "Books for Babies"
program. When a baby is born in the Flynn neighborhood, a book is donated to
the family. Additional books are mailed to those children on each of their
birthdays until they start school.
Fifty seven percent of the children at Flynn receive free or reduced lunch.
Books are often a luxury that families cannot afford. Please consider donating a
book for a child (newborn through fifth grade). Look for the donation box in the
Lobby or bring your books to the office during the week. Thank you!

Hispanic Ministry
This week the Trinity council granted $3,000 of Thrivent Choice funds to assist the start-up of an ELCA Hispanic ministry in the Chippewa Valley. Aimed at ministering and providing worship for the growing Hispanic population living and working in the area, Jorge Cervera has been employed by the NW Synod of WI ELCA to work with area congregations and clergy in this effort. Thank you to all who hold Thrivent Financial products and have elected Trinity as a beneficiary of "Thrivent Choice" dollars. Contact your Thrivent representative to elect Trinity for your Thrivent Choice dollars.
Recycle Old Cell Phones
Trinity's Health Ministry Committee is collecting old cell phones for a company called "Hope Phones." Each donated phone will be refurbished and used to purchase appropriate, usable cell phones for community health workers in medical clinics in over 230 countries around the world. Hope Phones' first pilot project distributed cell phones to community health workers in 100 rural villages in Malawi, saving thousands of dollars in travel and hospital costs and doubling the number of patients treated for diseases such as tuberculosis. Put your old cell phones in the collection box, available in the lobby or preschool hallway. Learn more about "Hope Phones" at hopephones.org
Thank You for Sharing
Thanks to the generosity and faithful stewardship of many in 2011, our church finished the year in fine financial shape. Offering income was up, we met all expenses and had some extra funds, too. Thank you!
This week the Trinity Council will act upon a proposal to dedicate those funds toward supporting a new ELCA congregation in Barron County, the LSS Positive Avenues Day Shelter, and our Good Samaritan fund. Some funds will go toward a major roof project on our building and replacing the roof of our rental house on Lexington.
Thank you also for strong Mortgage Payment offerings in 2011. Your good stewardship resulted in $79,000 directed toward extra principle payments.
In this new year, may you find joy in generosity and remember the mission of our church in your charitable giving every week. Thank you!
