Stewardship at Trinity

“I Have Called You Friends: Living and Sharing Christ” is the theme of our 2007-2008 Stewardship Annual Response. It focuses on the friendship Jesus extends to us as followers. How we care for that friendship sets the tone for how we care for our lives, our times and the blessings God shares with us and that’s the basis of Christian stewardship.

Jesus said:

‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father.

John 15:12-15

Jesus shows that he wants our relationship with him to be based not on obligation but on friendship. Friendship is always a voluntary association from which self-giving and sacrifice for another deepens the relationship.

“I Have Called You Friends” is a positive, loving basis for the stewardship response Jesus invites from you. Your faithful, generous and loving response in financial sharing and sharing our abilities and time in the mission of Christ will bless you, grow your friendship with Jesus and advance our mission of ‘Serving in Christ’s Love and Sharing the Good News.”
